About Nigel Atkinson Wild Images.
Nigel Atkinson is a Nature, Wildlife and Environmental Photographer. With over twenty years experience photographing the Natural World we now have a collection of images from five of the worlds seven continents. Some on film but most by digital capture.
We have also invested in a 26 metre (87 feet) Land Rover mounted Pneumatic Mast which basically means we can get the camera high, but keep it low enough to retain perspective, This has opened up other options in the world of environmental Photography, such as site overviews, for both pre work and after work Images. A high perspective is also useful for a host of other applications such as Planning Applications, Property Sales, Roof inspections and Visual Progress reports.
My work has been published in a number of magazines from wildlife magazines like Natures Best and Outdoor Photography to a whole host of other diverse titles such as Land Rover international. Clients range from environmental organizations and charities such as the European Nature Trust. Both Corporations and Small businesses have used our images in promoting their business. Scientists and students have also used our images to illustrate their scientific Papers.
Whilst not kidding myself that I alone can change the world, I do believe that Visual imagery is a powerful medium, and that working with others who specialize in many different fields is key to making headway for a better understanding of our planet. Education information and good old fashioned tell it as it is; in my experience is the way forward. Humans have an inbuilt curiosity for the world around them. Attitudes can and do change, Powerful imagery, correct information and an understanding of what is required, coupled with the desire for change to take place, is key in achieving goals.
For me imagery is about promoting an understanding and knowledge of the earth on which we rely for our life support. To help drive a sense of wonder, to create a passion for nature, whether in your back Yard, your local reserve or the far corners of the earth. From the first time I ever picked up a camera to this very day that's all I ever wanted to do. So taken was I, with my experiences, words without images just didn’t have the desired effect. Good Images speak volumes in any language, which is quite fitting really as good conservation has also to be global. That said if everyone looks after their own locallity then we have a global movment.
We are happy to work helping and promoting conservation at all levels ranging from local solutions to global initiatives.
